When people start filling out the registration flow for an event but don't finish registering, the information they have entered is saved as an abandoned registration. When they return to the flow, the information they entered is auto-filled.
You can review these abandoned registrations on the Zuddl dashboard, send reminder emails to finish registering, or delete them as required.
Follow these steps to manage abandoned registrations:
- Go to People > Attendees > Abandoned registrations. Here, you can see the list of abandoned registrations, along with the step in the flow where they left, the registration flow they were on, the ticket they selected (for ticketed events only) and the start date and time for their registration.
For ticketed events, registrants are added to the abandoned registrations list after the checkout timer expires. For non-ticketed events, the default time is 30 minutes after they leave the flow.
Only registrants who have entered their email address are added to the abandoned registrations list. If they don’t enter their email or skip the flow step where their email needs to be entered, they are not added to the list. - You can filter through the list based on Registration flow or Tickets.
- To search individual people by email address, click the search button.
- Click the checkboxes on the left to select multiple abandoned registrations and take actions such as deleting them or sending reminder emails.
- Click the more options (three-dots) button for a particular registration to send a reminder email or delete this registration.
- Click Download CSV to get the information entered by the registrants in a CSV file.
Reminder emails for abandoned registrations
There are 4 standard reminder email templates available that you can use for abandoned registrations. Follow these steps to set up and manage the reminder emails:
- Go to Communication > Standard > Attendees. The available templates are:
- Abandoned registrations : Immediate - Sent immediately once the registration is considered abandoned and is added to the Abandoned registrations page (30 minutes after the registrant leaves the form).
- Abandoned registrations : 1 day later - Sent 1 day after the registration is considered abandoned.
- Abandoned registrations : 1 week later - Sent 1 week after the registration is considered abandoned.
- Abandoned registrations : 4 days later - Sent 4 days after the registration is considered abandoned.
Reminder emails are reset when an abandoned registrant returns to the flow.
If someone abandons the registration, receives reminder emails, returns to the flow and abandons it again - the reminder emails are sent again starting from the first one (immediate) followed by the other emails according to the reminder interval.
- Click the edit button to edit the email template. Click Edit HTML code to edit the code or click Edit email to use the email editor.
- The email includes a button for the registrants to Continue registration. To link this button to your registration page, edit the email and paste the link of your registration page in the URL field for the button. Click Save to save your changes.
This step is mandatory. Entering your registration page URL in the URL field ensures that registrants are redirected to the correct page and can complete the registration.
