How to Set Up Games for your Hybrid Event on Zuddl

You can set up games and customize them for your attendees, to offer more engaging event experiences.


Creating a new game

Follow these steps to create a new game:

  1. In the event setup, go to Games > All games. Click Create game.

  2. Under Game details, set up the basic details for the game:
    1. Enter a Name for the game (up to 150 characters).
    2. Select an Icon for the game from the dropdown.
    3. Enter a game Description (optional).
    4. To keep the game as a draft, turn off the Game is active toggle. You can turn this on when you want the game to be playable.
    5. To make the game playable only for a certain duration, toggle on Set a time window (optional). This lets you set a Start date and time and End date and time for the game.

  3. Click the Create game button to create the game.

Creating tasks

Once a game is created, you can now define tasks for the players to complete. Follow these steps to set up a task:

  1. In the game setup, click + Create task.
  2. In Action, select an action for the task from the dropdown:Screenshot 2024-09-16 at 7.25.25 PM
    1. Scan a QR code: For this task, players need to find a unique QR code and scan it. The generated QR code can be found next to the task name on the game setup page.
    2. Submit a pictureFor this task, players need to submit a picture according to the requirements defined. For this action, there are two further settings:
      1. Under Photo submission sources, choose the source of the picture. This can be Live capture only, or Both live capture and upload from device.

      2. Under Number of photos required, choose how many pictures must be submitted for this task (maximum of 4).

  3. Under Task details, enter the Task name and Description (optional). These details are visible to attendees in the event.

  4. In Points, enter the number of points to offer as reward for players who complete the task successfully.
  5. Click Create task to create the task.
  6. The task is now listed on the game setup page. For the Scan a QR code tasks, the unique QR codes can be downloaded here.

Reviewing submissions

You can review submissions for game tasks. Follow these steps to review submissions:

  1. On the Games page, click the submissions next to the game you want to review.

  2. Here you can see the different tasks for the game. Click on a task to view submissions.

  3. For QR code tasks, you can view the names of players who scanned the code, along with the date and time when scanned.

  4. For photo submission tasks, you can view the photos uploaded by the players.

  5. To change the points awarded to players, click Modify points.

  6. In the modal, enter the points to add or deduct. Use the + operator to award bonus points (e.g. +50), or - to deduct points (e.g. -50). Optionally, add a note to explain the bonus points or deduction.

  7. Click Confirm to modify the points.

Viewing the leaderboard

The leaderboard for the event is shown in Games > Leaderboard. Players are shown in order of points. In case two or more players have the same number of points, the player who reached the score first will be ranked higher.
