How to Create a Game Task for a Hybrid Event in Zuddl
Once a game is created, you can define tasks for the players to complete. You can have multiple tasks in a game, and they can be customized individually with different actions and rewards.
Choosing an action
Tasks need to be defined with an action that the player must complete to gain the reward.
Here are the actions you can choose from:

Following these steps to choose the task action:
- In the game setup, click + Create task.
- In Action, select an action for the task from the dropdown. There are multiple actions you can choose from for a task:
- Scan a QR code: A unique QR code is generated for this task. Players must find it at the event venue and scan it to complete the task. The generated QR code can be found next to the task name on the game setup page.
The unique QR codes for these tasks can be downloaded from the game setup page once the task is created:
In the app, attendees can scan QR codes to complete the task: - Submit a picture: Players must submit a picture according to the requirements defined in the task. For this action, there are two further settings:
- Under Photo submission sources, choose the source of the picture. This can be Live capture only, or Both live capture and upload from device.
- Under Number of photos required, choose how many pictures must be submitted for this task (maximum of 4).
- To allow players to submit photos less than the required number (partial submission), check the Allow partial submissions box.
Partial submissions let players submit the task without needing to complete the stated number of photo uploads.
- Under Photo submission sources, choose the source of the picture. This can be Live capture only, or Both live capture and upload from device.
- Attend session(s): Players must check-in to sessions. Under Condition, choose from the following options:
- Any session: Players can attend any sessions to complete the task.
Choose the Number of sessions to attend for the task to be successfully completed.
Select a Task repetition limit (optional, set to 1 by default). This defines the number of times a player can repeat the task to gain the same reward.
If the Task repetition limit is set to 1, the task only needs to be completed once. Repetition count is inclusive of the first time the task is performed.
In the app, players can view the repetition limit for a task and get bonus points:
- Specific session: Players must attend all the selected sessions to complete the task. Under Sessions to attend, choose the eligible sessions for this task.
- Any session: Players can attend any sessions to complete the task.
- Respond to session survey(s): Players must complete session surveys. Under Condition, choose from the following options:
- Any survey: Players can complete any session surveys to complete the task.
Choose the Number of surveys to complete for the task to be successfully completed.
Select a Task repetition limit (optional, set to 1 by default). This defines the number of times a player can repeat the task to gain the same reward. - Specific survey: Players must complete all the selected session surveys to complete the task. Under Surveys to complete, choose the eligible session surveys for this task.
In the app, players can view their task progress:
- Any survey: Players can complete any session surveys to complete the task.
- Respond to event survey(s): Players must complete event surveys. Under Condition, choose from the following options:
- Any survey: Players can complete any event surveys to complete the task.
Choose the Number of surveys to complete for the task to be successfully completed.
Select a Task repetition limit (optional, set to 1 by default). This defines the number of times a player can repeat the task to gain the same reward. - Specific survey: Players must complete all the selected event surveys to complete the task. Under Surveys to complete, choose the eligible event surveys for this task.
In the app, players can view their task progress:
- Any survey: Players can complete any event surveys to complete the task.
- Visit sponsor booth(s): Players must visit sponsor booths and get scanned at the booth. Under Condition, choose from the following options:
- Any sponsor: Players can visit any sponsor booths to complete the task.Choose the Number of sponsor booths to visit for the task to be successfully completed. Select a Task repetition limit (optional, set to 1 by default). This defines the number of times a player can repeat the task to gain the same reward.
- Specific sponsors: Players must visit all the selected sponsor booths to complete the task. Under Sponsor booths to visit, choose the eligible sponsor booths for this task.
The Visit sponsor booth(s) action is currently limited only for attendees and speakers. Since organizers and moderators currently do not have a QR, they cannot get scanned at the sponsor booth. In the app, players can view their task progress:
- Any sponsor: Players can visit any sponsor booths to complete the task.Choose the Number of sponsor booths to visit for the task to be successfully completed. Select a Task repetition limit (optional, set to 1 by default). This defines the number of times a player can repeat the task to gain the same reward.
- Book meeting(s): Players must set up meetings with other event participants. Under Condition, choose from the following options:
- Any audience group: Players can set up meetings with any participants to complete the task.
Choose the Number of meetings to book for the task to be successfully completed. Select a Task repetition limit (optional, set to 1 by default). This defines the number of times a player can repeat the task to gain the same reward. - Specific audience group: Players must set up meetings with participants of the selected audience groups. Under Select audience group(s), choose the eligible audience groups for this task. Choose the Number of meetings to book for the task to be successfully completed. Select a Task repetition limit (optional, set to 1 by default). This defines the number of times a player can repeat the task to gain the same reward.
Even if the meeting request feature has been turned off at the event level (off by default), people can still set up meetings in the game task. In the app, players can set up meetings through the networking page as well as through the task screen:
Task details
Under Task details, enter the Task name and Description (optional). These details are visible to attendees in the event.
Defining rewards
You can now define the reward for successfully completing this task. The reward can be points, badges, or both.
- Check the relevant boxes to select the reward.
- For Points, enter the number of points to offer as reward.
- For Badges, you can customize the badge:
- Enter a Badge name (up to 20 characters).
- Select a Badge image: you can Browse icons from the Icon dropdown or Use custom image. To use your custom badge image, upload the image in the next section. You can review the Badge guidelines here to ensure your image is compatible.
In the app, rewards are displayed after a task or game is successfully completed:
- Click Create task to create the task.
- The task is now listed on the game setup page.
