In this article, you will learn how to troubleshoot internet issues when using the Zuddl app.

Enable lite mode

Lite mode is a lightweight version of the actual stream of a session so that if an attendee faces internet bandwidth issues, they can still be able attend the session.

Since it is an lighter version of the stream, it has a lag of upto 20-30 seconds, there will be no interactions on the stream like answering a poll, the stream will auto adjust the streaming resolution based on the user’s internet bandwidth.

Attendees can enable lite mode, only when a session is live.

While this should not affect much for one-way sessions (speaker talking to attendees) like webinars, however for events where an interaction is required by attendee, interactions would have some delay.

To enable lite mode,
  1.  Click the Audio/video issues? button on the bottom bar

  2. Toggle on the Enable lite mode
The attendee can easily identify if they are on lite mode by the label on the top left corner of the feed.

The first person to turn on lite mode will need to wait up to 20 seconds to see the video on stage. After that, anyone else using lite mode on will see the video instantly. The lite mode will automatically stop 30 minutes after the last person disables the lite mode.

Disable VPN

If you are on a VPN (Virtual Private Network) service, we highly recommend temporarily disabling it as VPNs can sometimes interfere with the platform's connectivity. To disable a VPN, follow these steps:
  • For Windows: Locate the VPN software in your system tray or go to Control Panel and choose to disconnect or turn off the VPN.
  • For macOS: Open the System Preferences > Network, and disable the VPN connection.
  • For mobile devices: Go to your device's settings, select Network or Connections, and disable the VPN.

Minimum bandwidth requirement

It is imperative to establish a stable internet connection to guarantee a smooth streaming experience. Your internet connection speed must meet the minimum bandwidth requirement. Learn about the minimum bandwidth requirement based on speakers and resolution.
You can use any online tool to test your internet speed, for example, Speedtest by Ookla.

Connect to a stable Wi-Fi or Hotspot:

If you are using Wi-Fi, please follow the steps below:
  1. Verify that your Wi-Fi connection is stable.
  2. If you are unable to connect to the internet, try restarting your router.
  3. If you are still unable to connect, contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider) for further assistance.
Meanwhile, consider connecting to the internet through your phone.
