Introduction

With the Zuddl-Salesforce integration, you can build a connection between your Salesforce and Zuddl org, allowing you to pass registrations and valuable event engagement insights captured on Zuddl to Salesforce. You can also pass Salesforce campaign members as registrants to your Zuddl event, thereby achieving a bidirectional sync between your Zuddl and Salesforce organizations. The integration provides you with controls that allow you to maintain a one-to-one relationship between Zuddl and Salesforce fields, thereby keeping both systems up-to-date.

This article will gives you an overview of how the integration works, available configuration options, benefits, and how you can get you started. At the end of this article you can click Next step link to view the next steps.

How the integration works

The flowchart shown below explains the entire import and export flow:

Route 1 (purple arrow) explains the export integration where, the user registration is captured at Zuddl's end and then is passed to Salesforce and after the event ends. Route 2 (blue arrow) describes the flow where, the user registration is captured at Salesforce and then as it gets added to a Salesforce campaign, it is passed on the Zuddl as a registration for your event. You can utilize the Route 2 to pass activity details for the attendees as well.

Handling duplicate entries

A single attendee may be invited to other events/webinars from your Zuddl account. For instance, Mary (a prospect) is invited to two events (event A and event B), and respective Salesforce campaigns are linked to each event. Now, out of the two, Mary registered for event A, because of which the integration automatically creates a lead and adds her to the respective campaign.

For event B, the integration checks if Mary’s email address exists in your Salesforce instance to avoid duplicate entries for Mary. The integration searches in the relevant Salesforce objects in the following order:

  1. Campaigns: If present, it does nothing.
  2. Contacts: If present, the email is automatically added to the campaign
  3. Leads: If present, the email is automatically added to the campaign

Suppose a registrant does not exist in Salesforce, just like in Mary's case for event A. In this case, the integration automatically creates a lead and adds it to the respective campaign.

Setting up the integration

The set up involves the following steps:
  1. Install the app from Zuddl integration page. This step involves org-level field mapping of Zuddl standard registration fields with Salesforce contact fields.
  2. Send/receive registrations
You would also need to configure your Salesforce account to be able receive Zuddl event data

If your organization requires you to create a special user with required permissions for integration purposes, create an API-only user profile in your Salesforce with Modify All Data or Modify All permissions. Learn how to create an API-only user profile.
