Nominations

What This Does

Nominations is a list of people you build yourself, usually accounts or contacts you are considering inviting to an event. These people do not exist in Zuddl yet as registrants or attendees. The Nominations list is the data source you build Smart Tables on, so your team can work through the list with you. For example, sales reps can nominate accounts and a manager can shortlist them.

You can build a Nominations list in two ways: import a CSV of an existing list, or start from scratch and fill in the rows yourself.

Note: First Name, Last Name, and Email are required for every person in the list. Email identifies each person and is used to match data from connected integrations. A row with no email filled in cannot be given a status, so make sure every person has an email.

Steps

  1. Open the Nominations tab under People in the left navigation.

  1. Choose how to build your list: Import CSV or Start from scratch.

  1. Start from scratch: a blank table opens with empty rows ready to fill in. The default columns are First Name, Last Name, Email, and Status.

  1. Import CSV: upload your file, then map the columns in your file to fields in the table. Your file needs a header row with at least the three mandatory columns: First Name, Last Name, and Email. All other columns are optional. A few mapping rules apply:

  • We auto-map columns wherever we find a clear match. On the next screen, for each CSV column you can choose an existing nominations field, create a new field, or skip it.

  • Any new field you create is added only to this Nominations table, not to your registration form or flow.

  • Each valid row becomes one nominee in your table.

  • Date columns must use the format MM/DD/YYYY (for example, 10/26/2026).

  • Date and time columns must use the format MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM AM/PM (for example, 10/26/2026 03:45 PM).

  • Phone number columns must use the format +countryCode-phoneNumber (for example, +1-88658886).

  1. Add more columns at any time with [+ Add Field], and choose a type: Text, Email, Phone Number, URL, Country, Select (Dropdown), Multiselect, Number, Date, or Date time. A column's field type cannot be changed once it has been added.

  1. Add more people at any time with [+ Add Row] at the bottom of the table.

  1. When your list is ready, create a Smart Table on top of it to share a controlled view with your team. See the Smart Tables article for how.

What Happens Next

Every new row starts with the Imported status. From there, you and your team move people through your workflow. Each status may mark where a person is in that process:

  • Imported: the person has been added to the list but not yet reviewed.

  • Nominated: someone has put this person forward as worth inviting.

  • Shortlisted: the person has passed review and is ready to be invited.
